The subscription is expected to include exclusive features and enhanced user experiences across Meta’s platforms.

The new Plus subscription is designed to improve the user experience with advanced customization tools and premium features.

Premium Features

Subscribers will gain access to profile personalization options, super reactions, story insights, and several other premium features aimed at increasing engagement across Meta’s ecosystem.

The Plus subscription is expected to provide users with enhanced customization tools and exclusive experiences across Meta’s platforms.

By launching Plus, Meta is moving toward a more subscription-driven model while continuing to diversify its revenue beyond advertising.

The move also reflects a growing trend among social media companies to monetize premium experiences for highly active users.

Subscription Plans

Meta is also experimenting with new subscription options for businesses, creators, and Meta AI users.

The pricing details for Meta’s Plus subscriptions in India are still unclear.

However, users subscribing to Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus in other regions may need to pay $3.99 (approximately Rs 383) per month.

Meanwhile, a monthly WhatsApp Plus subscription is expected to cost $2.99 (around Rs 287).

Power Users

Meta’s new Plus tier appears to be designed for power users seeking additional features that enhance engagement and overall platform experience.

The subscription could offer tools and features aimed at increasing usage across Meta’s social media platforms.

These features may help creators expand their audience and gain deeper insights into their followers.

For Meta, a stronger focus on subscriptions could diversify revenue sources and generate more value from its massive user base as growth across its core apps reaches global saturation.

New Apps

Meta is expanding its ecosystem by introducing more apps and social features across its platforms.

Last month, Instagram, which is owned by Meta, launched a new app along with a feature called Instants for quick photo sharing without edits or filters.

A few weeks later, the company quietly introduced another app called “Forum,” centered around Facebook Groups.

The new app offers a Reddit-like experience and includes several AI-powered features for users.

Creative Tools

The features included in Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus are focused on enhancing creative expression and user engagement.

Instagram Plus allows subscribers to see how many times their Stories have been rewatched and create unlimited audience lists beyond the existing “Close Friends” option.

The subscription also offers tools designed to give users more control over content sharing and audience management.

Facebook Plus includes many of the same features available in Instagram Plus, offering a similar premium experience across platforms.

Subscribers can highlight one Story each week for extra visibility, keep Stories active for more than 24 hours, preview Stories anonymously, and view detailed Story audience insights.

Extra Features

Users will also have the option to post directly from their profile and highlight content without it appearing in their followers’ feeds.

The subscription includes Super Heart animated reactions for Stories to enhance user interactions.

Subscribers will also get access to custom app icons and customizable fonts for profile bios.

In addition, the plan offers extra profile pins, allowing users to showcase more content on their profiles.

On the flip side, WhatsApp Plus brings features such as app themes, custom ringtones, more pinned chats, list customization, and premium stickers, all aimed at enhancing personalization and messaging.

Meta Subscription Strategy

Meta has made it clear that the new Plus plans are not meant to replace its existing subscription services, such as Meta Verified, which focuses on verification, impersonation protection, and additional support.

In addition to the Plus plans, Meta has announced that it will begin testing professional plans aimed at creators and businesses, along with AI-focused plans for all users.

These testing plans will be grouped under the name “Meta One,” which will serve as a unified hub for all of Meta’s subscription offerings in the future.

The move highlights Meta’s broader strategy to streamline and expand its paid services across different user segments.

Meta AI Plans

Meta is also trialing two new subscription plans specifically for Meta AI users.

The Meta One Plus plan is priced at $7.99 (around Rs 767) per month.

The Meta One Premium plan costs $19.99 (approximately Rs 1,920) per month.

Both plans are aimed at offering enhanced features and capabilities within Meta’s AI ecosystem.

Meta AI Subscription Features

The Premium plan enhances video and image generation capabilities across Meta’s applications. In addition, both plans include benefits for users of Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses.

The AI-focused subscription plans are expected to begin testing next month in select regions, including Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia.

Meanwhile, creator and business plans will be trialed later this week in Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Thailand, and Bangladesh.

Meta AI will continue to remain free for casual users, despite the introduction of these paid tiers.
