X (previously known as Twitter) has rolled out a new “History” tab to help users keep track of the content they have saved, liked, watched, or read on the platform.
This feature is initially available on iOS and combines bookmarks, liked posts, viewed videos, and articles into one convenient section within the app.
The feature brings together bookmarks, liked posts, watched videos, and previously read articles into a single organized section, making it easier for users to track and rediscover past activity without manually searching through their timelines or profiles.
The new History tab could be especially useful for users who frequently save posts for later reading, revisit informative threads, or consume large amounts of video content on the platform.
Instead of managing separate sections for bookmarks and likes, users now have a unified hub that streamlines navigation and content tracking, potentially making the app more efficient and user-friendly.
X’s New History Hub
X has redesigned its History section into four streamlined tabs — Bookmarks, Likes, Videos, and Articles — making it easier for users to rediscover content they care about.
The Bookmarks and Likes tabs continue to rely on manual user actions, giving people full control over the posts and media they intentionally save.
Meanwhile, the new Videos and Articles tabs are designed to populate automatically, curating content based on users’ activity and engagement across the platform.
As part of the update, X has also renamed the existing “Bookmarks” option in the mobile side menu to “History,” reflecting its broader role as a personalized content archive.
Nikita Bier, X’s head of product, mentioned that this feature aims to assist users in returning to content they might want to finish later. Moreover, X has stated that the History section is private to each user.
