Senior officials in Jammu and Kashmir told reporters today that the Indian Army has successfully killed six terrorists in 48 hours in two different operations in wildly disparate terrain.
A sarpach was killed in the Union Territory in March by one of the terrorists.
“We will track down and eliminate the terrorists wherever they may be hiding” ,GOC V Force Major General Dhananjay Joshi informed reporters.

“On May 12, the army received information about the potential existence of a terrorist organization in the higher reaches of Kelar,” he stated.
When the security personnel saw some activity the following morning, they challenged the terrorists, but they fired back, he claimed, adding that the threat was quickly eliminated.
In Tral, the second operation was carried out in a border settlement.
“Three terrorists were neutralized. Following the terrorists’ placement in different homes and opened fire on us while we were laying a cordon in this village. One of the six terrorists neutralized, Shahid Kutte, was involved in two significant attacks, including one on a German tourist, and he also helped finance actions”,remarked Major General Joshji.
The officers, who included members of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, stated in the briefing today that the army had killed three terrorists in the Tral operation, which was conducted over challenging terrain.
In Pulwama, the army obtained information about three militants hiding in a village. The army began an operation after first evacuating all people.

The Pulwama action took place in the hamlet on rather level land, but the Tral operation took place on higher elevation in a wooded area.
According to the army, three terrorists were killed in the village of Pulwama.
Three terrorists from Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were slain in Pulwama. They are known as Yawar Ahmed Bhat, Amir Nazir Wani, and Asif Ahmed Sheikh.
The ongoing Operation Sindoor, which represents a conceptual shift in India’s approach to dealing with terrorists, coincides with the successful anti-terror operations. India has declared that it will target the core of terrorism wherever it exists.
