Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s captain, Rajat Patidar, stated that Virat Kohli has contributed significantly to the franchise throughout the years. They aim to perform at their best in the IPL final on Tuesday against the Punjab Kings, hoping to help Kohli secure the much-desired trophy.

“Certainly. I believe he has dedicated many years to RCB as well as to the international team.We will do our best in the game”, Patidar shared with the media on Monday during his pre-match press conference.

“We aren’t focused on the fact that we’re in the finals. Our goal is to play our best cricket. We’re not here just for the spotlight. I prefer to keep things straightforward”, he mentioned.

Kohli has been in three finals with RCB in 2009, 2011, and 2016, but unfortunately, he has lost each time. Despite his amazing performances, it wasn’t enough to help the team break their title drought.

Patidar is set to captain a franchise in an IPL final for the first time, while his PBKS rival Shreyas Iyer has already led three different teams to the finals of this lucrative league.

“Honestly, I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I see this as an amazing chance to learn from some of the top leaders in the game, along with some fantastic players and international talents. It’s a wonderful opportunity for me to absorb their diverse perspectives, which is really benefiting me in my leadership position”, he mentioned.

“I’ve always aimed to foster a positive atmosphere off the field as much as possible, so every player, whether they’re domestic player or international player, feels equally valued. They should feel at ease and self-assured. I believe this is my main point”, Patidar mentioned.
