Tilak Varma from India moved up one place to rank third in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings. Meanwhile, spinners Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi maintained their positions at third and seventh respectively in the latest bowling rankings that were published on Wednesday.
Tilak currently holds 804 rating points, trailing his fellow countryman Abhishek Sharma, who is in second place. Australia’s Travis Head remains at the top of the batting leaderboard, while Suryakumar Yadav has dropped one spot to sixth, being the only other Indian player in the top 10.
In the bowling rankings, apart from Chakaravarthy (706) and Bishnoi (674), left-arm fast bowler Arshdeep Singh also makes the top 10 with 653 points.
Hardik Pandya is still at the top of the all-rounders’ list with 252 rating points.
In other news, England’s Adil Rashid has climbed to second place in the bowling rankings after a solid performance in the 3-0 T20I series victory over West Indies. The 37-year-old bowler took 1/22 in Chester-le-Street, 1/59 in Bristol, and 2/30 in Southampton, moving ahead of Wanindu Hasaranga and Chakaravarthy. Rashid now has 710 points, which is just 13 points shy of the top-ranked Jacob Duffy from New Zealand, who has 723.
Additionally, Brydon Carse, Rashid’s teammate, has also improved his standing, taking two wickets in the last two matches and jumping 16 spots to 52nd place with 493 points.
England’s Ben Duckett advanced 48 positions to 16th place following his impressive score of 84 runs off 46 balls in the concluding T20I,while Harry Brook climbed six positions to joint-38th with scores of 35 not out and 34 during the series.
For the West Indies, captain Shai Hope ascended 14 places to 15th with two scores in the 40s, and Rovman Powell broke into the top 20 after scoring an unbeaten 79 off 45 balls in the final match.
All-rounder Jason Holder also saw improvement, moving up 16 spots to 26th in the all-rounder rankings after making 70 runs and taking a wicket in the series.
