Pakistan’s U19 team couldn’t qualify for the semi-finals and also failed to secure a win against India U19 in their last Super Sixes match of the U19 World Cup.

Ayush Mhatre-led team successfully achieved this at Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo, on Sunday(February 1, 2026).

Match Summary

Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi attacked the new ball, scoring 30 off 22, but Pakistan had India in a tough spot at 47 for 3 and 200 for 7.

Vedant Trivedi steadied India with a solid 68 off 98 balls, and the lower order chipped in – No. 8 Kanishk Chouhan made 35 runs, No. 7 RA Ambrish contributed 29, and even No. 9 Khilan Patel scored 21 off 15.

Pakistan couldn’t limit them to a chaseable score. India set a target total score of 252 runs.

Pakistan’s slow fielding didn’t help, as they had to bowl the last four overs with an extra fielder inside the 30-yard circle, allowing India to score 39 runs in those overs despite not having wickets left.

Pakistan needed to chase down a target of 253 runs.

With the bat, Pakistan started off well, but their batting quality dropped sharply after No. 4. This might explain why they didn’t fully commit to the qualification chase.

Pakistan appeared to be in a strong position for an easy victory during Usman Khan and Yousaf’s 63-run partnership for the third wicket.

On a slower ball from Ambrish, Yousaf tried to hit his third six but was unable to clear long-on. At that point, India tightened their hold and eventually choked Pakistan out of the game.

In their chase, Pakistan U19 was bowled out for 194 runs.

India U19 easily defeated Pakistan U19 by just 58 runs. Ayush Mhatre eliminated Pakistan U19, securing a spot in the final four of the tournament

Pakistan will regret their lack of discipline both with the ball and in the field, as well as their indecision with the bat. Their approach against the new ball lacked conviction.

Next, India is set to face off against Afghanistan in the semi-finals in Harare.

Final Score

India U19: 252 all out (49.5 overs)
Pakistan U19: 194 all out (46.2 overs)
Result: India won by 58 runs
