Experienced compound archers V. Jyothi Surekha and Abhishek Verma led India to snag four medals, including three golds, at the Asian archery championships in Dhaka on Thursday (November 13, 2025).

Jyothi won the gold medals in the women’s individual and team events.

Jyothi’s almost flawless performance,she defeated Taipei’s rival 149-143 in the semifinals and then defeated 17-year-old Prithika Pradeep 147-145 in the women’s individual final, helped India secure the top two spots.

Earlier, Jyothi, Prithika, and Deepshikha worked together seamlessly as India triumphed over Korea with a score of 236-234, securing the women’s team title.

The Indian team consistently scored 59 in each of the four ends.

Verma helped India win by winning the mixed team gold and the men’s team silver.

Verma, Prathamesh Fuge, and Sahil Jadhav, on the other hand, lost the men’s team gold medal match to Kazakhstan by a slim margin of one point, 229-230.

In the mixed team final, Verma and the youthful Deepshikha worked well together to defeat the host team, Bangladesh, 153-151, and win the top prize.

Men:

Gold: India (Prathamesh Fuge, Sahil Jadhav, Abhishek Verma) lost to Kazakhstan (Bunyod Mirzametov, Dilmukhamet Mussa, Andrey Tyutyun) (229-230)

Women:

Gold: India (Deepshikha, V. Jyothi Surekha, Prithika Pradeep) defeated Korea (Park Yerin, Oh Yoohyun, Park Jungyoon) (236-234).

Mixed:

Gold: India (Deepshikha, Abhishek Verma) defeated Bangladesh (Bonna Akter, Himu Bachhar) (153-151).
