Sri Lanka’s women’s captain, Chamari Athapaththu, made history by becoming the first player from her country to reach 150 T20I matches.

The experienced cricketer accomplished this remarkable milestone during the fourth T20I of the five-match series against the India Women, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday (December 28, 2025).

In Women’s T20I cricket, Athapaththu has scored 3507 runs with an average of 25.23 and a strike rate of 109.97, which includes three centuries and 13 half-centuries.

On the bowling side, the 35-year-old has taken 63 wickets at an average of 25.73 and an economy rate of 6.62, with one four-wicket haul to her credit.

India Women and Sri Lanka Women have clashed 29 times in T20I cricket. Out of these encounters, the Women in Blue have won 23 times and lost five, with one match resulting in no result.
