The news of the martyrdom of a valiant Andhra soldier, Murali Nayak, in the intensifying war between India and Pakistan sent a shadow of doom over Kallithanda village in Gorantla mandal of Sri Sathya Sai district.

Murali Nayak died in Jammu & Kashmir while Pakistani soldiers were firing over the border. He upheld the greatest traditions of the Indian armed services by fighting bravely until the end.
