Indian viewers of Amazon Prime Video will need to pay an additional ₹129 a month or ₹699 as a one-time fee in addition to their current membership. According to the news outlet, this is scheduled to start in June.
According to the publication, the action follows months of similar policy modifications for Amazon Prime Video customers in the US, UK, Germany, and Canada.
Many dissatisfied Amazon Prime Video customers posted images of emails they claimed the firm gave them alerting them to the insertion of advertisements and the more expensive ad-free tier they might choose.

For some users, Amazon already plays advertisements prior to the start of their streamed content. Furthermore, many movies and recent releases are only available to subscribers, who have to pay to download or rent the content.
