India secured the top spot in the women’s team rankings, bagging two golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.

Priya Malik received a silver medal following her 4-3 defeat against Brazil’s Pan-American silver medallist Thamires Machado in the women’s 76kg final at the Ranking Series wrestling event held in Budapest.

The 20 year old from India, who used to be the World under-20 champion and has won the Asian under-23 championship twice, did an amazing job by defeating Elmira Syzdykova from Kazakhstan, a bronze medallist from the 2016 Olympics, with a score of 7-2.

They also took down Valeriia Trifonova, a World under-23 bronze medallist, with a score of 11-1, securing a spot in the final.

Asian champion Manisha Bhanwala (62kg) secured a bronze medal.
