Shukla, a member of the groundbreaking Axiom-4 mission, met with PM Modi on Monday and mentioned that India’s Gaganyaan Mission has attracted significant global attention.

During a chat with Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioned that India should aim to have around 40 to 50 astronauts for its upcoming space missions.

After returning from the mission, Shukla presented PM Modi with a tricolour that had traveled to space alongside him. In a video posted by PM Modi on his X account, Shukla is seen shaking hands and embracing PM Modi. The video also features Shukla discussing his experiences at the International Space Station and how the human body adjusts to life in space.

Modi mentioned that Shukla’s experience in space will be a great asset for India’s Gaganyaan mission.

Since coming back from his 18-day stay at the ISS on July 15, Shukla has been in Houston, Texas, getting used to Earth’s gravity again.

He arrived in India on Monday and was welcomed at the Delhi airport by Union Science Minister Jitendra Singh and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
