India’s Rishabh Yadav, Aman Saini, and Prathamesh Fuge found their individual runs cut short in the quarterfinals of the World Archery Championships in Gwangju, Korea, on Monday (September 8, 2025).

Getting back into the swing of things, the Indians triumphed in their pre-quarter final matches.

Fuge stole the show by hitting a flawless 150 and narrowly defeating World No.1 Dutchman Mike Schloesser by just one point.

In the quarterfinals, Rishabh really gave it his all against Nicolas Girard, but the Frenchman clinched it with a score of 146-145 on the final shot.

Fuge really challenged World No.2 Mathias Fullerton but ended up losing 148-148 (9-10) in a shoot-off.

Saini lost points in four out of five ends, allowing Curtis Broadnax to take the win 147-144.

The Result – Compound: Individual:

Men: Rishabh Yadav defeated Robin Jaatma (Est) 148-140 (pre-quarterfinal), then lost to Nicolas Girard (Fra) 145-146 (quarterfinal).

Prathamesh Fuge beat Mike Schloesser (Ned) 150-149 (pre-quarterfinal), then lost to Mathias Fullerton (Den) 148-148, shoot-off: 9-10 (quarterfinal).

Aman Saini won against Jean Philippe Boulch (Fra) 144-143 (pre-quarterfinal), but lost to Curtis Broadnax (USA) 144-147 (quarterfinal).

Women: Prithika Pradeep won against Viktoriya Lyan (Kaz) 145-139 (1st round), then beat Nguyen Thi Hai Chau (Vie) 145-142 (2nd round), and defeated Lisell Jaatma (Est) 148-145 (3rd round).

V. Jyothi Surekha received byes (1st and 2nd rounds), then won against Sofie Marcussen (Den) 149-148 (3rd round); Parneet Kaur beat Milica Petronijevic (Slo) 144-129 (1st round), then won against Adriana Castillo (Mex) 146-145 (2nd round), and defeated Giulia Di Nardo (Ita) 148-146 (3rd round).
