Neeraj Chopra qualified for the Tokyo Olympics final with a single throw four years back, he has once again made it to the final of the ongoing 2025 World Championships with just one heave in qualifying.

Neeraj wrapped up his afternoon in Tokyo with a throw of 84.85m, falling short of the automatic qualification mark of 85.50m.

Out of 19 throwers in Group A, Neeraj Chopra was the only one to qualify on his first attempt.

This marks the first occasion where four Indian athletes are participating in a single event at the World Athletics Championships, with Neeraj alongside Sachin Yadav, Yash Vir Singh, and Rohit Yadav.

On the other hand, Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem, who is in Group B, needed three throws to secure his spot in the final.

He recorded 76.99m and 74.17m on his first two attempts, before finally hitting 85.28m on his last try.

Sachin Yadav’s top throw of 83.67m has earned him a place in the final set for tomorrow.

Unfortunately, the other two Indians, Yash Vir Singh (with a best throw of 77.51m) and Rohit Yadav (who threw 77.81m) didn’t qualify.

Rohit finished 28th, while Yash came in 30th out of 37 competitors.

Top 12 athletes who will be back at the stadium for the final tomorrow.

In Group A, Neeraj is up against notable competitors like German thrower Julian Weber, Jakub Vadlejch, and Keshorn Walcott. Meanwhile, reigning Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem from Pakistan is in Group B.
