The Indian Government is working on a mobile app for Aadhaar users and holders.

This app is being created by the Unique Identification Authority of India.

Basically, it looks like the app will let you update your personal details without needing to go to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra in person.

After the app launches, you’ll be able to update things like your name, address, date of birth, and more online.

While the app isn’t finished yet, it’s set to launch soon. A government official mentioned that the mobile app is expected to be available by the end of this year.

The goal of this mobile app is to provide a simple, user friendly way to update your Aadhaar info all in one digital place.

e-Aadhaar

A fresh Aadhaar mobile app is about to let users update important personal info such as their name, home address, and birth date directly from their phones.

This online solution is designed to reduce the need for physical trips to enrollment centers.

By combining Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Face ID tech, the app will provide users all over India with secure and smooth digital Aadhaar services.

Starting in November, Aadhaar users will only have to visit enrolment centers for biometric verification, which includes fingerprint and iris scans.

This new initiative from UIDAI is designed to make the update process easier, reduce the amount of paperwork required, lower the chances of identity fraud, and accelerate the whole process while enhancing convenience for users.

What extra documents will the app help with?

UIDAI aims to automatically retrieve user information from trusted government sources.

This will cover documents like birth certificates, PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, ration cards from the Public Distribution System (PDS), and records from the MNREGA scheme.

Additionally, details from electricity bills might also be included to enhance the ease of address verification.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) introduced the Aadhaar Good Governance Portal to make the approval process for Aadhaar authentication requests easier.

This platform aims to boost the efficiency and user experience of Aadhaar services. By simplifying how authentication applications are submitted and processed, the portal is set to enhance accessibility and encourage more inclusivity within the Aadhaar system.
