Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat scored two gold medals, while Sukant Kadam brought home a gold and a silver, as India excelled at the Australian Para Badminton International 2025, finishing at the top of the medal standings.

Bhagat secured the men’s singles SL3 title by defeating his fellow countryman Manoj Sarkar with scores of 21-15, 21-17 in the final.

He then teamed up with Kadam to win the men’s doubles SL3-SL4 title, overcoming the Indian pair of Umesh Vikram Kumar and Surya Kant Yadav with a close match of 21-11, 19-21, 21-18.

Kadam earned a silver in the men’s singles SL4, putting up a strong fight but ultimately losing 21-23, 21-14, 19-21 to Surya Kant.

India’s impressive performance continued as Manasi Joshi secured two gold medals – in women’s singles SL3 and mixed doubles SL3-SU5 alongside Ruthick Ragupathi.

Ruthick also partnered with Chirag Baretha to clinch the men’s doubles SU5 title.

In other results, Sivarajan Solaimalai and Sudarshan Muthuswamy took home gold and silver in men’s doubles SH6.

Yashodhan Ravankole and Dheeraj Saini won the men’s doubles SU5 gold.

Sarumathi triumphed in the women’s singles SL4 + SU5 category, defeating Australia’s Zashka Gunson.

India’s impressive overall performance highlighted its rising prominence in the world of para-badminton.
