Lionel Messi’s Argentina squad won’t be playing in India next month.

The game, originally set for November 17 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, will now take place during FIFA’s next international match window, as stated in a social media post by Anto Augustine, the managing director of Reporter Broadcasting Company.

Mr. Anto mentioned on Facebook that there was a hold-up in obtaining permission from FIDE for the match.

He noted that this decision came after discussions with the Argentine Football Association (AFA).

The Minister himself claimed the match was off, but in August, the AFA confirmed that their team would indeed play in Kochi.

Recently, though, there have been reports in the Argentine media suggesting that the match in India is unlikely to happen in November, with the possibility of it only occurring in March 2026.
