India won its first Women’s World Cup on Sunday night(November 2, 2025), defeating South Africa by 52 runs.

India’s victorious Women’s ODI World Cup team will be honored by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday evening (November 5, 2025).

After receiving an invitation from the Prime Minister’s Office late on Monday(November 3, 2025), the team, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, flew to the capital on Tuesday(November 4, 2025).

This celebration is similar to the one that took place for the men’s T20I team in July 2024, right after Rohit Sharma’s squad won the T20 World Cup in Barbados.

The men’s team had a meeting with the Prime Minister before heading to Mumbai for a grand victory parade along the Marine Drive promenade.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not anticipated to host a victory parade for Harmanpreet’s Hurricanes, though, unlike the men’s team.

Safety concerns following the tragic stampede outside Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium earlier this year, during the festivities for Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL victory, also played a role in the decision.
