On Thursday(November 6, 2025), Google revealed 10 fresh updates for Google Maps in India.

It has streamlined travel management, proactive alerts, and conversational Gemini integration.

These updates will be accessible to both Android and iOS users.

Ten New Updates

With Gemini integrated into Maps, drivers can chat with Gemini while on the road, asking about hotels and restaurants along their route, including their ratings.

Gemini will also provide a summary of the information for easy access while driving. Users can inquire about things like parking availability and receive responses.

Additionally, they can link their other apps, such as Gmail and Calendar, allowing for automatic addition of locations.

Gemini will actively analyze and summarize Maps reviews and online content to offer users useful, concise, and practical tips about places as they explore them on Maps.

Google mentioned that Maps will also notify users about accident-prone areas and speed limit alerts in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

India is among the first markets, alongside the U.S., to receive these features.

It will also provide real-time highway data from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which can be utilized to send proactive disruption alerts to drivers in specific routes or areas.

The accident-prone area alerts will be available for Android users in Gurugram, the Cyberabad region of Hyderabad, Chandigarh, and Faridabad.

Maps will also show the official speed limit on the speedometer within the app.

This feature is being rolled out to both Android and iOS users across 9 Indian cities, including Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Hyderabad (including Cyberabad), Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, and Noida.

Maps is rolling out a new customizable two-wheeler avatar for riders to help them navigate their routes.

They can choose from classic motorbikes, sports bikes, or scooters, available in eight different colors.

This feature will be available in the coming weeks, starting with Android users in India.

Additionally, users will receive voice guidance for flyovers in nine Indian languages.

For travel management, Maps will let users access their metro tickets through Google Wallet.

Now, users can save their purchased tickets directly to Google Wallet and retrieve them from Maps whenever they need.
