India wrapped up the five-match T20 International series against Australia with a 2-1 victory after the final game was called off due to rain in Brisbane on Saturday (November 8, 2025).

Match Summary

Batting first, India got off to a fantastic start with openers Abhishek Sharma (23 not out off 13 balls) and Shubman Gill (29 not out off 16 balls) taking the attack to the bowlers.

However, play was halted by lightning while India was comfortably at 52 for no loss in just 4.5 overs.

Shortly after, heavy rain hit the Gabba, leading to the match being abandoned.

Earlier, Australia had opportunities to dismiss the dangerous Abhishek early on but couldn’t take advantage.

Glenn Maxwell dropped an easy catch after the left-hander mishit a shot in the first over, and Ben Dwarshuis let a straightforward catch slip in the fourth over when Abhishek was on 11.

Just three balls later, Abhishek excited the Indian supporters with a stunning flat six over mid-wicket.

Gill maintained India’s quick start by hitting three boundaries off Dwarshuis in the third over, clearly aiming for the left-arm pacer.

The first T20I was also washed out, while Australia managed to win the second match by four wickets.

India made a strong comeback, winning the third and fourth matches by five wickets and 48 runs.

Finally India wins the series against Australia.
