Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has slipped to second place after a short stint at the top, with New Zealander Daryl Mitchell taking over in the ICC ODI batters’ rankings released on Wednesday (November 19, 2025).

Mitchell is now the second New Zealander to reach the No.1 position for ODI batters, thanks to a fantastic century against the West Indies.

He achieved his seventh ODI century during the first match of the series against the Caribbean team, which was enough for the in-form right-handed batsman to surpass Rohit and secure the top spot for the first time in his career.

Currently, Mitchell has 782 rating points, just one ahead of Rohit, whose time at the top lasted about three weeks.

This means that Mitchell is now the second player from New Zealand to achieve the top ranking for ODI batters, joining the legendary Kiwi Glenn Turner, who held the position back in 1979.

Other New Zealand players like Martin Crowe, Andrew Jones, Roger Twose, Nathan Astle, Kane Williamson, Martin Guptill, and Ross Taylor have all been in the top five of the ODI batter rankings during their remarkable careers, but only Turner and now Mitchell have reached the No.1 spot.

Ibrahim Zadran from Afghanistan has dropped one spot to third, while Shubman Gill is in fourth, Virat Kohli in fifth, and Shreyas Iyer in eighth, all making the top-10.

Bowler Ranking

India’s pacer Jasprit Bumrah has maintained his position as the top Test bowler after taking six wickets in the first Test at Eden Gardens.

His teammates, Kuldeep Yadav, climbed two spots to reach a career-high 13th.

All Rounder Ranking

Ravindra Jadeja moved up four places to 15th, making some progress as well.

From South Africa, Marco Jansen rose one spot to 11th, and Simon Harmer jumped an impressive 20 places to 24th after their solid performances against India.

Additionally, Jansen improved his ranking by one spot, now sitting at fifth among Test all-rounders.
