Nothing started releasing its Android 16-based Nothing OS 4.0 to its Indian users on Friday, November 21, 2025.

The new OS 4.0 will first be available for Phone 3 users, with plans to extend to other Nothing and CMF devices later.

For those using Phone 3, it introduces features like enhanced Flip to Glyph controls, an improved Pocket Mode, and new Glyph Toys such as Hourglass and Lunar Cycle.

The Glyph Mirror Selfie feature now lets users save the original photo as an additional image in the Gallery.

NOS 4.0 will also provide live updates through the Glyph interface, which claims to show real-time ride, delivery, and timer info directly on the phone’s screen and the Glyph Interface.

Apps that support Android 16’s live updates will now also support Nothing’s Glyph Progress feature.

Additionally, it will introduce a refined extra dark mode that now extends to first-party apps like Essential Space and Launcher, with broader integration expected soon.

Nothing OS 4.0 improves the overall feel of the system in motion. Every touch, swipe, and gesture now has more depth and tactility.

When you adjust the volume, you’ll feel subtle haptic feedback at the highest and lowest points, providing an immediate, physical response even when you’re not looking at the screen.

The home screen background smoothly scales in or out, adding depth to the experience.

With Nothing OS 4.0, users can now enjoy new 1×1 and 2×1 layouts for Weather, Pedometer, and Screen Time.

They can open two floating apps simultaneously and switch between them using simple gestures. Just swipe up from the bottom to minimize or pull down to expand to full screen.

Users can also hide any app from the App Drawer, making access just a swipe away.
