Germany defeated India 5-1 in the FIH Junior Men’s World Cup semifinal at the SDAT-Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium on Sunday(December 7,2025).

The seven-time champions delivered a stellar performance, easily securing a spot in their 10th final in 14 tournaments.

Match Summary

The India-Germany match was practically decided in the first quarter when the visitors scored twice.

Germany’s high intensity, solid defensive setup, and clinical finishing left India scrambling from the start.

Germany took the lead with a penalty stroke converted by Lucas Kossel late in the first quarter after a powerful drive by Quirin Nahr hit Ankit Pal, resulting in the stroke.

The second goal came in a bizarre way when a sideline drive by Titus Wex was accidentally deflected into the net by Sunil Palakshappa Bennur.

After conceding the second goal, India appeared demoralized. Kossel scored from a penalty corner for his second goal.

The Indian midfield struggled with creativity, and the forwards were ineffective in penetrating the circle.
