In the U19 Asia Cup final, India lost to Pakistan by 191 runs.

Earlier in the tournament, the Indian team had beaten Pakistan by 90 runs during the group stage.

Match Summary

India might regret their choice to field first after winning the toss, as Pakistan’s Sameer Minhas went on a scoring spree, racking up 172 runs all by himself, which helped them reach that huge total.

At one point, it seemed like Pakistan could even hit 270 or 280 runs. However, after Minhas was out for 172, Pakistan quickly fell from 302/3 to 327/8, losing five wickets for just 25 runs.

Minhas had formed a solid 92-run partnership with Usman Khan and a massive 137-run partnership with Ahmed Hussain, pushing Pakistan past the 300-run mark in only 43 overs.

While chasing a massive target of 348, Ayush Mhatre’s team was bowled out for 156.

Even though the team had strong players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Ayush Mhatre, and Abhigyan Kundu, the top scorer in the final was actually No. 10 batter Deepesh Devendran, who scored 36 runs off of just 16 balls.

India was the only team in the tournament that hadn’t lost a match, having secured victories against UAE, Pakistan, and Malaysia in the group stages, and then defeating Sri Lanka in a rain-affected final.

On the other hand, Pakistan had one loss (to India) but had convincingly beaten Malaysia and UAE in the group stages before taking down Bangladesh in the semifinal.
