A lot of us accept our blood reports at face value.

To ascertain whether a person is actually at risk for metabolic problems like insulin resistance, it is crucial to interpret the report in the appropriate context.

Instead of being influenced by social media trends, the decision to investigate insulin resistance should be made individually and overseen by a qualified doctor.

What should we do?.

A person’s metabolic health is not always indicated by a normal fasting blood sugar reading. While insulin resistance develops gradually, blood sugar levels can stay normal for years.

These blood tests are helpful, but they don’t always cover everything.

Insulin resistance happens when the body’s cells don’t respond effectively to insulin.

In order to keep blood sugar levels normal, this forces the pancreas to produce more insulin.

Standard tests may reveal normal glucose levels during this phase, which can last for ten to twenty years before diabetes becomes evident.

Blood sugar reflects the final stage of metabolic dysfunction.

People may experience weight gain around the waist, fatty liver, abnormal cholesterol, high blood pressure, or rising insulin levels prior to an increase in glucose levels.

These changes raise the risk of heart disease and diabetes long before glucose levels are considered diagnostic.
