After yesterday’s loss, the Mumbai Indians totally changed course and executed the strategy flawlessly.

Lee then took another catch to send Kamalini (16) back to the pavilion.

After losing their openers, MI found a solid partnership between Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur, who launched a fierce counter-attack.

This partnership ended with Sciver-Brunt getting out for 70 off 46 balls.

Harmanpreet then formed a brief partnership with Nicola Carey (21) and also reached her half-century.

The MI captain struck four fours as MI scored 19 runs in the last over, finishing unbeaten at 74(not out) off 42 balls.

Meanwhile, Nandani took two wickets on her WPL debut.

Mumbai Indians set a total of 195/4 in 20 overs.

Carey dismissed openers Laura Wolvaardt (9) and Shafali Verma (8) while chasing.

At the same time, Kamalini made an incredible one-handed catch, helping Ismail claim Jemimah Rodrigues wicket (1).

Carey then secured her third wicket by getting Kapp out for 10 off six balls.

Delhi lost their opener Lee (10) early on, falling to Sciver-Brunt in the fourth over.

Chinelle Henry’s determined effort helped close the gap and spared the team from an even worse loss.

Chinelle Henry made 56 runs, but it was Nicola Carey and Amelia Kerr who shone with three wickets each, helping the two-time champions secure the win.

Mumbai Indians crushed Delhi Capitals by 50 runs to kick off their tournament journey.
