In the 2nd ODI at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot(January 14,2026), India faced off against New Zealand.

Earlier,New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell won the toss and chose to bowl first.

India got off to a slow start but quickly reached 57/0 in 10 overs.

New Zealand’s bowling changes then paid off as Rohit Sharma was dismissed while attempting a lofted shot, and soon after, Gill fell after scoring a 50.

India found themselves at 118/4, with the Kiwi spinners tightening their grip.

KL Rahul needed to play a stabilizing innings and managed to rescue his team by forming a couple of partnerships with Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

KL Rahul finally got his 8th ODI century, helping India reach a solid total of 284-7 wickets.Rahul ended up not out with 112 runs off just 92 balls.

Kristian Clarke was the standout bowler for New Zealand, with figures of 3/56.

While Chase, Daryl Mitchell was the star of the show, scoring an impressive 131 runs off 117 balls, while Will Young made 87 before getting out in the 38th over.

Their partnership helped New Zealand reach 286/3 in just 47.3 overs.

New Zealand successfully chased a target of 285 and won by 7 wickets.

The Kiwis are leveling the three-match series at 1-1.

Mitchell and Will Young (87) really took control of the game, while Glenn Phillips (32(not out)) added a useful contribution towards the end.

For India, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, and Prasidh Krishna each took one wicket.
