India and England faced off in the final of the ICC U19 Men’s World Cup 2026 on February 6, 2026, at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.

Chasing 412 in a World Cup final was always going to be a tall order, and even though they put up a fight, England ultimately came up short as India clinched their third title in eight years.

Match Summary

Earlier India won the toss and chose to bat first.

Batting first, India’s Aaron George was dismissed for just 9 runs. However, what happened next completely changed the game.

Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi formed a solid partnership, putting together 142 runs that lifted India from a tough spot and gave them the upper hand.

Mhatre played a steady role, scoring a calm 53 off 51 balls, keeping the scoreboard ticking and letting Vaibhav play his natural game.

After Mhatre was out, it became all about Vaibhav. He shifted into high gear, batting like he was in a casual game, tearing apart the England bowling attack with ease.

Sixes flew, boundaries kept coming, and the bowlers were left scratching their heads as the opener blazed to an incredible 175 off just 80 balls.

His innings has completely derailed England’s strategy and set India on a path to a huge total.

With plenty of wickets in hand and the momentum swinging their way, India is on track for a score that could really shape the outcome of the match.

In the middle over, Vedant Trivedi provided valuable runs. With 28 balls, he scored 29 runs.

Finally, Kanishk Chouhan has a quick cameo at the end. To help the team surpass 400, he hit a crucial late shots. With 20 balls, he scores 37 runs (not out).

The match was one of the standout performances of the tournament, especially for India’s batting.

India scored an incredible 411/9 in their 50 overs.

Alex Green and Sebastian Morgan were the only bowlers to break partnerships and make breakthroughs, each taking two wickets.

While chasing a huge total 412, England’s Ben Dawkins was the standout performer with a battling 66 off 56 balls.

England started aggressively but lost regular wickets under pressure.

Caleb Falconer kept England’s hopes alive alongside James Minto, as the duo formed the highest partnership of the innings with 92 runs.

Caleb Falconer was their top scorer with a quickfire 115 runs (about 67 balls) – showing aggressive intent but not enough to keep up with the massive required rate.

In the U19 World Cup 2026 final, India defeated England by 100 runs to win the U19 Cricket World Cup for a sixth time.
