Vilayath Budha could become India’s first movie-inspired open-world mobile game.

The project brings together Urvasi Theatres and Offline Human Studios in a unique collaboration, and features Prithviraj Sukumaran—one of the first South Indian actors to appear in a game of this kind.

The Malayalam film Vilayath Budha, which came out in 2025 and is based on GR Indugopan’s novel of the same name, tells the story of a sandalwood smuggler named Double Mohanan, his mentor Bhaskaran Master, and a sandalwood tree called Vilayath Budha.

Meanwhile, actor Prithviraj Sukumaran plays the lead role in the film that inspired the game.

The movie hit theaters in November 2025, but the game’s early access for downloads didn’t kick off until the first week of February 2026. Still, it’s been in development for over six months.

Offline Human Studios set out to develop a game inspired by a well-known title that would both connect with players and deliver an immersive world. They were particularly excited about creating an off-roading themed experience.

Since most of the film was filmed in Marayoor, Idukki, they could highlight the stunning natural beauty of Kerala.

The full version, arriving later this year, will include the complete storyline, while the current early access build lets players explore smaller sections of the world.

The Malayalam film inspired the game.

It uses English as its main language, which is pretty neutral. Having Prithviraj involved is a big plus since he has a broad appeal across India.

Additionally, the game brings the world of the Malayalam film to mobile players. It focuses on an immersive off-road adventure.

Vilayath Budha Mobile Game Development By Offline Human Studios

Sharath Ravi started Offline Human Studios in 2023.

His brothers Sanil and Sangeeth joined him along with friends Karthik and Nithin Neena. All of them share a passion for video and mobile games.

They were one of the ten Indian companies that joined the 2025 Tokyo Game Show, where they presented Fighter: 3D Pandavas, a fighting game inspired by the Mahabharata.

As a result, the Vilayath Budha mobile game could become one of India’s first movie-inspired open-world mobile games.
