The defending champions, India decisively defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in a politically charged Group A match of the Asia Cup held in Dubai on Sunday(September 14,2025).

India’s spin trio set the stage for their second consecutive win in the tournament by limiting Pakistan to a disappointing 127-9.

Pakistan, having won the toss, chose to bat at the Dubai International Stadium in Match 6 of the Asia Cup 2025, maintaining the same lineup that triumphed over Oman, with Haris Rauf left out.

Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman gave a short boost to Pakistan’s innings.

Sahibzada Farhan scored 40 runs off 44 balls and Shaheen Afridi contributed a quick 33 runs off 16 balls, but the rest of Pakistan’s batting lineup struggled.

India’s three spinners took six wickets in just 10 overs, leaving Pakistan in a tough spot to complete their 20 overs.

Next, India began to chase the target of 128 runs.

After a strong start from opener Abhishek Sharma (31), Tilak Varma (31) and captain Suryakumar Yadav, who scored an unbeaten 47, teamed up for a 56 run partnership, leading the reigning 20-over world champions to victory with 4.1 overs remaining.

Pakistan’s Saim Ayub took 3 wickets for 35 runs.

India easily chased down the target in just 15.5 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah took out Mohammad Haris in the following over, leaving Pakistan at 6 for 2.

Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel dominated the middle overs with consistent wickets, putting pressure on Pakistan’s middle order.

India easily chased down the target and secured their second win against Pakistan.

Off the field, the India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup has already stirred up some controversy.
