Glamping, short for ‘glamorous camping’, is a unique outdoor adventure that mixes the thrill of camping with the luxury and comfort you’d find in a fancy hotel. Rather than the usual tents and sleeping bags, glamping spots typically feature chic, fully furnished tents, domes, yurts, or cabins that come with all the modern conveniences.

In India, the trend of glamping is swiftly expanding, attributed to the country’s varied landscapes, which range from mountains and beaches to deserts. It perfectly blends the outdoor camping experience with the modern comforts of a luxury hotel. For instance, in Rajasthan, you can find glamping in opulent tents close to the Thar Desert, Udaipur, and Jaipur, often paired with camel safaris and cultural activities. Meanwhile, Kerala’s backwaters, tea plantations, and lush hills offer peaceful glamping experiences, especially in Munnar and Wayanad. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are favorites for glamping amidst beautiful mountains, rivers, and valleys, particularly in places like Manali, Shimla, Rishikesh, and Nainital.
