Around 300 horses are set to participate in the 30 day Chennai racing season scheduled from August 30 to March 14, 2026, as stated in a release from the Madras Race Club on Thursday.

The total stake money being offered is ₹14.77 crore, along with trophies worth ₹36.40 lakh for 186 races, not counting divisions.

The overall payout will reach ₹17.99 crore, which includes divisions and cups.

Racing schedule:

  • August: 30
  • September: 6, 13, 20, and 27
  • October: 4, 10 (Coromandel Gromor Fillies Trial Stakes), 18, 24 (Coromandel Gromor Colts Trial Stakes), and 31.
  • In November: 2, 8, 14 (Deepak Khaitan Memorial Guindy Gold Cup), 22, and 27.
  • December: 5 (South India 1000 Guineas), 13 (South India 2000 Guineas), 20, 25, and 31.
  • For January 2026: 1 (South India Oaks), 13, 14 (South India Derby Stakes), 24, 30 (South India Sprinters Trial Stakes), and (South India Stayers Trial Stakes).
  • February: 6, 15 (South India St. Leger), 21
  • March: 7 and 14.

This season will see participation from sixteen trainers and thirty jockeys.
