Andhra Pradesh’s handloom products are really popular in the market, and the weavers in the state are skilled at creating silk garments with the latest designs, said Kesineni Janaki Lakshmi, the wife of Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, here on Saturday (August 30).

“By selling their products directly, weavers are able to offer consumers silk garments at fair prices”, Ms. Janaki Lakshmi mentioned.

She was opening the Indian Silk Gallery Exhibition, hosted by the Ministry of Handlooms and Textiles, at a Convention Centre close to Benz Circle.

Ms. Janaki Lakshmi engaged with the weavers and traders who traveled from Venkatagiri, Uppada, Gadwal, Kalamkari, Kancheepuram, Banaras, and various other locations.

P. Deepika, the brand ambassador for the Indian Silk Gallery Expo, checked out the stalls.

Y. Srinivas Rao, the deputy director of the Central Silk Board and exhibition organizer, mentioned that the exhibition will run until September 2.

Shoppers can find the newest designs perfect for weddings and the upcoming Dasara and Deepavali festivals here.
