On Friday, August 29, 2025, Microsoft announced that Windows 11, version 25H2 (Build 26200.5074), is now accessible in the Release Preview Channel.

This update will be rolled out to everyone later this year.

The big software company hasn’t detailed which features will come with the update, but they did mention that PowerShell 2.0 and Windows Management Instrumentation Command Line (WMIC) will be removed.

The 25H2 version will also include the same new features and improvements that were introduced in earlier versions.

Both the 24H2 and 25H2 versions are part of the same servicing branch, allowing users to update with just one restart, after which the latest version will be provided once the enablement package is activated.

The update will also allow commercial customers to let IT admins uninstall certain pre-installed Microsoft Store apps using Group Policy/MDM CSP on Enterprise/EDU devices.

Windows Insiders can grab the update by going to settings in the Release Preview Channel and will get new servicing updates via Windows Update.
