On Tuesday, October 14, 2025, Google launched its AI image editing tool, Nano Banana, for Search and NotebookLM.

This feature is set to be added to the Photos app in the future.

The AI image editor, which runs on Gemini 2.5 Flash, debuted in August and quickly gained popularity.

For Google Search, users can open Lens, snap a photo, or select one from their gallery.

A ‘Create’ button with a banana icon will show up at the bottom, allowing them to click it and type in a prompt for how they want the edited image to look.

Additionally, users can access the editor through Google Lens.

At the end of July, NotebookLM launched updates such as Video Overviews and improvements for creating mind maps and study guides.
