Mitchell Marsh and Jos Inglis have led Australia to a score of 56/1 (Target 126) after the powerplay against India in the second match of the five-game T20 series in Melbourne.

Australia lost several wickets later in the chase, including two off consecutive balls to Jasprit Bumrah.

Match Summary

Earlier, Australian captain Mitchell Marsh won the toss and chose to bowl first against Suryakumar Yadav’s team in the second T20 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Friday(October 31,2025).

Abhishek Sharma and Harshit Rana helped India put up a decent score.

Sharma scored 68 while Rana contributed 35 runs, but the other batters didn’t step up, leading to India being bowled out for 125 runs.

Josh Hazlewood was the standout bowler, taking three wickets.

The Indian bowlers really put in a solid effort, fighting their way back into the game with true determination.

Varun Chakarvarthy has taken out Tim David, leaving Australia three wickets down.

India needed some early breakthroughs to put pressure on the Aussies, but Travis Head and Mitch Marsh formed a fifty partnership.

Marsh scored 46 while Head made 28, leading Australia to an easy victory.

Australia’s chase was pretty straight forward, finishing the game with almost 40 balls to spare.

Australia took down India by 4 wickets. 

Beyond just winning the series, both teams are eager to test their strengths as they prepare for the T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka in February.
