Mexico’s Fatima Bosch triumphed over more than 100 competitors to claim the 74th Miss Universe crown, while Thailand’s Praveenar Singh took home the title of first Runner Up.

The 73rd Miss Universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig from Denmark, crowned her at the pageant finale.

Bosch brings pride to Mexico after a 5-year gap, following Andrea Meza’s win in 2020.

Fatima Bosch Fernandez, hailing from Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, has a strong love and empathy for animals. Despite being diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, and hyperactivity, she turned these challenges into her strengths.

Bosch earned a degree in Fashion and Apparel Design from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and later continued her education at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Italy.

With a passion for sustainable fashion, she now creates designs that breathe new life into discarded materials, merging creativity with purpose.

The Final Question

For the final question, when asked how she would use her title to inspire young girls, she said:

“As Miss Universe, I will tell them to trust in the power of their authenticity, believe in themselves, their dreams are important, and their hearts matter. Never let anyone make you question your value, because you are worth everything”.

India misses out

Manika Vishwakarma, who represented India at the 74th Miss Universe, was eliminated in the Top 12 round after the swimsuit presentation.

She competed with over 100 representatives from various countries, using her platform to advocate for inclusive education, mental wellness, and the importance of artistic expression.

The event was hosted by the internationally renowned performer Steve Byrne, while Thai singer and songwriter Jeff Satur brought energy to the night with his performances during the Opening Song and Top 5 round segments.

A special traditional Thai performance provided a beautiful tribute to the host nation, showcasing movements inspired by centuries of artistry, blending culture, rhythm, and elegance to honor Thailand’s enduring spirit.

As per the official press release, the pageant was judged by eight distinguished judges, including one with an Indian connection.

Badminton superstar Saina Nehwal took part as a judge, marking her first experience in such a role.

Next Year Host

Puerto Rico is gearing up to host the 75th, silver jubilee edition of the pageant, marking their third time as hosts of the Miss Universe event.
