Legendary Indian cricketer Virat Kohli had yet another memorable performance in Ranchi, captivating fans with his 52nd ODI century and breaking the record for the most centuries by a player in a single format of the game.

The opening match of the ODI series against South Africa was like a festival for the fans as India took to bat.

Virat, alongside Rohit Sharma, formed a solid 136-run partnership for the second wicket.

He scored 135 runs off 120 balls, hitting 11 fours and seven sixes, all while maintaining an impressive strike rate of 112.50.

Against South Africa, he scored his sixth ODI century, surpassing both Sachin and David Warner.

With this achievement, he has surpassed his fellow countryman and legendary player Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 51 Test centuries.

It makes him the player with the most centuries in one format of the sport.

This also marks his 83rd century in international cricket.

Additionally, he surpassed Sachin’s previous record of 58 with his 59th fifty-plus score in India, shattering Sachin’s record for the most fifty-plus scores at home in ODIs.
