Google has been progressively integrating Gemini into its ecosystem, which includes smartphones, smartwatches, and home assistants. The AI chatbot is now available in various formats.

Google is focusing on improving the overall user experience as Gemini continues to develop and gain popularity.

The company is developing a feature that would enable Gemini to handle certain requests in the background, resulting in smoother and more seamless interactions.

At present, the Gemini overlay can be activated by either saying the Google hotword or long-pressing the power button, but it vanishes as soon as you tap on the background.

This means that users have to restart their interactions with the AI chatbot from the beginning every time they close it, making it difficult to switch between Gemini and another app.

In the latest beta version of the Google app, the tech giant has figured out a way to make the Gemini overlay work with other apps.

Although these updates haven’t reached users yet.

The new interface, which enables users to move away from the Gemini overlay without losing their background progress, was able to be previewed.

For users who wish to use Gemini to check something without worrying about the AI chatbot’s overlay suddenly vanishing, this feature is really helpful.

It may take some time before Google makes this feature accessible to everyone, though, as it is still in its early stages.
