Google is now introducing a new feature that lets users change their Gmail address, providing more flexibility for users to update old usernames or fix early decisions without needing to set up a completely new account.

The company is rolling out this new feature that allows users to change their email address even if it ends with “@gmail.com”.

Previously, Google only permitted email changes for users who registered with third-party email addresses, while Gmail addresses themselves were off-limits for modifications.

When you pick a new email address, Google may consider your old Gmail address as an alias.

This means you can log into Google services using either address.

Users will still receive emails at both their old and new addresses, and that data like photos, messages, and emails sent to the old address will remain unaffected.

Users can still use their old Google account email address, Google won’t allow the creation of a new Google account email address for a year.

The company also mentions that users can change their email address up to three times.

The support page includes more details, but it appears that these changes aren’t live just yet.

You may have to wait a little while before you can choose a new Gmail address for your account because this feature is being “rolled out gradually” and won’t be accessible to everyone right away.
