Earlier, UP Warriors won the toss, choose to bowl first.

After being put in to bat, Mumbai’s new opening duo of Amanjot Kaur and G Kamalini had a tough time finding their groove against a disciplined Warriorz bowling attack, managing only 32 runs during the powerplay.

It’s the second-lowest powerplay score in WPL history without losing a wicket.

UPW’s pace bowlers dominated the powerplay, while their spinners managed to restrict MI’s batters for a short time.

The momentum of the game changed dramatically when Nat Sciver-Brunt returned to the lineup and smashed 65 runs off 43 balls, forming a crucial 85-run partnership with Nicola Carey.

Although the Warriorz’s spinners, like Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone, managed to extract considerable turn throughout the innings, their control slipped during the final overs. Mumbai Indians set a challenging total of 161/5.

UPW’s powerplay was pretty similar to MI’s.Kiran Navgire, struggled to find her rhythm while the other, Lanning, monopolized the strike.

Lanning also got a reprieve on 16 when Sanskriti Gupta dropped a catch at point, but MI didn’t have to wait long to send her back.

Sciver-Brunt dealt UPW a double blow, dismissing both Lanning and Navgire within five balls, leaving UPW in a tough spot at 45 for 2 in the 7th over.

Next, Deol came out with purpose. She began by scoring three fours off her first three balls with a cut, a drive, and a late dab, finding different gaps on the off side.

However, Kerr dismissed Litchfield for the eighth time in T20s, wrapping up that 15th over before Deol reached a 32-ball fifty and smashed Gupta for three fours in her 15-run over.

Just one day after being controversially retired out, Harleen Deol led the UPW chase with an impressive unbeaten 64 off 39 balls.

She hit the boundary 12 times and watched as Chloe Tryon smashed an unbeaten 27 off 11 in her second WPL innings, securing a seven-wicket victory.

UP Warriorz clinched their first win of the season with a seven-wicket triumph over Mumbai Indians, successfully chasing down a target of 162 with 11 balls remaining.
