It seems that test units of the iPhone 17 Pro were seen in San Francisco, hinting that Apple might be testing out a new camera feature.

A third camera control seems to be located near the top edge of the device. If this new feature is a capacitive touch scroll surface, you could hold the iPhone in landscape mode with the main Camera Control within reach of your right index finger, while this new feature would be reachable by your left index finger.

Design And Specs

The Apple iPhone 17 Pro is expected to have a dynamic island with a front camera and narrow bezels on the front. It will sport a rectangular camera island featuring three sensors and a flash that runs from one end to the other on the back. The Apple logo will be placed a bit lower on the device to make room for MagSafe charging.

The Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max is set to feature a triple rear camera system that includes a 48MP main lens capable of shooting videos in up to 8K, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP periscope telephoto lens.

Additionally, Apple is reportedly upgrading the front facing camera to 24MP for better video calls and selfies.

It’s expected that the Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max will come with a 6.9-inch XDR OLED display boasting a 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the phone will run on the Apple A19 Pro chipset, have 12GB of RAM, and offer 256GB of internal storage.

In fact, Apple is bumping up the RAM in the Pro models by 4GB. There are also rumors that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature the largest battery ever seen in an iPhone, at 5,500mAh, along with support for 15W Qi2 wireless charging and 25W MagSafe.
