It was believed that the selection of officers to conduct the media briefing, in addition to the military operation’s name, “Operation Sindoor,” was a potent homage to the ladies who were devastated by the Pahalgam terror assault.

Military Operation Name

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, two female officers, were among the defense personnel who briefed the media on “Operation Sindoor” on Wednesday. The military’s precision strikes on nine major terror training sites in Pakistan were described by both women, top commanders in the Army and the Air Force. The operation was largely seen as a proper reaction to the horrific Pahalagam terror attack.

Powerful Female Officers

Operation “Sindoor,” which alludes to the vermillion Hindu women in marriage wear.It was also intended to highlight the human cost of terrorism and demonstrate India’s strong will to combat the terrorists.

The name seems to be a tribute to the widows left behind by the 26 men—the most of whom were Hindu—who were slain in the Pahalgam terrorist assaults in April 22.
