Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) of Hyderabad achieved his first victory in four years when he defeated the favorite Sarthak Chavan, a teenager from Pune, to win the premier Pro-Stock 301-400cc Open race. This happened at the Madras International Circuit here on Sunday, The MRF-MMSC-FMSCI National Motorcycle Racing Championships’ opening round came to an untimely halt due to a thunderstorm.

Strong winds and heavy rain in the early afternoon caused significant damage to the facilities and prompted the cancellation of the day’s final two races, which will take place in August’s second round.

The Stock 165cc (Novice) race was won by young Kedarnadh (Motul KTM Gusto Racing) from Tirupati, while Ann Jennifer (RACR Castrol Power1) from Chennai and Varun Patil (Mad Rabbit Racing) from Bengaluru had previously completed a double apiece in the Girls (Stock 165cc) and Stock 301-400cc (Novice) categories.
