Indian shooter Manu Bhaker, a double Olympic medallist, came in fourth in the women’s 25m pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championship held in Shymkent on Monday, August 25, 2025.

Bhaker managed a score of 25, which is four points shy of Vietnam’s bronze medalist, Thu Vinh Trinh, who scored 29.

In the competition, Chinese shooters Yueyue Zhang and Jiaruixuan Xiao took home the gold and silver medals, with Zhang winning 4-3 in a shoot off after both ended up tied at 39 points.

Esha Singh, Bhaker’s fellow countrywoman, finished sixth in the final for eight women, scoring 18 points.

The Indian trio consisting of Bhaker, Esha, and Simranpreet Kaur Brar secured the team bronze with a total score of 1749, placing behind China and South Korea.

Esha led the women’s 25m pistol qualifications, finishing in front of Bhaker and the two Chinese medalists, Xiao and Zhang.

Earlier in the tournament, Bhaker earned bronze medals in both the women’s 10m air pistol individual and team events.

She ranked fourth in the women’s 25m pistol qualification round after the precision stage, with Esha coming in second.
