A urine toxicology analyzer machine has been placed in the casualty wing of the Government Medical College Hospital (MCH), Ernakulam, which may provide test results on possible cardiac arrest and substance usage in as little as 15 minutes.

The device can perform drug panel testing and cardiac enzyme testing. Families living below the poverty line will be eligible for these exams at no cost. This gadget can also be used to screen urine for substance misuse.

Indeed, this test may identify nine different drug categories that can be found in a urine sample: amphetamines, methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone metabolite, opiates, cannabinoids, and tricyclic antidepressants.
