On Thursday, Prime Video revealed a multi year partnership with Maddock Films, locking in worldwide exclusive streaming rights for eight of its upcoming titles after they hit theaters, which includes films from the popular horror comedy universe of the studio.

According to a statement from the streamer, Prime Video has landed an exclusive deal to be the only streaming platform for Maddock Films’ movies that will hit theaters from 2025 to 2027.

Among the films in this line up is the romantic comedy Param Sundari, featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, which is set to premiere in theaters on August 29.

According to Prime Video, this partnership enhances the platform’s relationship with Maddock Films, which has brought us hits like Stree 2, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, and the co-production Bhool Chuk Maaf, along with the original series Jee Karda.

Dinesh Vijan, the founder and CEO of Maddock Films, mentioned that this partnership showcases a common goal of bringing Indian storytelling to a worldwide audience.

“We’ve always thought that telling stories should be surprising, fun, and relatable and we love teaming up with partners who feel the same way. Prime Video has always supported films that go beyond language, location, and style. Whether it’s our horror-comedy realm or our favorite franchises, we’ve always aimed to build worlds that audiences enjoy coming back to”, he mentioned.

Manish Menghani, who is the director and head of content licensing at Prime Video India, mentioned that the streaming platform is dedicated to expanding the audience for Indian cinema.

“This lineup of multiple films not only expands on the unique and extremely popular horror comedy universe and its sequels but also introduces a unique mix of creative originality and new storytelling that is characteristic of Maddock”, he stated.
