Google announced that they are going to expand AI Mode in Search to five additional languages – Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Brazilian Portuguese.

They initially introduced AI Mode as a test feature in Search back in March this year, starting with English, to compete with new AI-driven search platforms such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT Search and Perplexity AI.

“Creating a genuinely global Search involves much more than just translation – it demands a deep understanding of local contexts. Thanks to the sophisticated multimodal and reasoning features of our tailored Gemini 2.5 in Search, we’ve made significant progress in language comprehension, ensuring that our top notch AI search functionalities are relevant and beneficial in every new language we introduce”, the blog from Google mentioned.

Last month, AI Mode introduced new features, allowing users to search for restaurant reservations, with plans to soon support local service appointments and event tickets.

Earlier in July, this feature was launched in India.

For now, this is only available to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the U.S.
