Vinicius Junior scored two goals and Kylian Mbappe added another before leaving the game due to injury, leading Real Madrid to a 3-1 victory over Villarreal, who are currently in third place.

Just moments after scoring in the 81st minute on Saturday, Mbappe sat down and grabbed his right ankle.

The French star then signaled with his hands that he couldn’t continue.

After a quick treatment, he walked off without assistance and headed straight down the tunnel.

Vinicius scored his first goal in the 47th minute, cutting in from the left and sending a low shot that deflected off Santi Comesana’s heel, wrong footing goalkeeper Arnau Tenas.

He then scored again from the penalty spot in the 69th minute after being fouled.

Mbappe is usually the one to take penalties, he let Vinicius take this one, and Vinicius managed to squeeze a weak shot under Tenas, who guessed the right way.

Villarreal’s winger Georges Mikautadze managed to pull one back with a great shot past Courtois from 20 meters out.

However, Villarreal’s efforts were hampered when defender Santiago Mourino received a second yellow card just four minutes later for a foul on Vinicius.

Villarreal then carelessly lost possession, and Mbappe exchanged passes with Brahim Diaz before scoring his 14th goal in just 10 games.

Girona secured a crucial win, beating Valencia 2-1 and moving off the bottom of the table.

Girona’s Ivan Martin got a red card in the 80th minute after picking up a second yellow, but his teammates held off Valencia during 10 minutes of stoppage time.

Ukrainian forward Vladyslav Vanat scored from outside the box to put Girona in the lead.

Diego Lopez managed to equalize in the second half, but Girona quickly took the lead again with Arnau Martinez scoring from a set piece.
