Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri, along with their respective partners, lost the men’s doubles third round matches in Paris on Sunday, India’s French Open campaign came to an end.Harrison-King defeated Bhambri- Galloway.

After a fierce battle, Bopanna and Czech partner Adam Pavlasek lost 2-6, 6-7(5) to the second-seeded Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten, who are ranked third and fourth in the world, respectively.

American ninth seeds Evan King and Christian Harrison upset Bhambri and American partner Robert Galloway 4-6, 4-6.

Bhambri – Galloway, an Indo-American duo, suffered early failures due to a break.In the eighth game, Harrison served out the first set but saved four set points.

Bhambri’s service loss at 4-4 in the second set was the pivotal moment. At 30-all, Galloway’s netted volley and a big overhead smash handed their opponents the lead.

At 30-all, Bhambri scored a forehand return to give King the first match point, and Galloway’s wide return gave the match the end.

Heliovaara and Patten dominated early in the Bopanna-Pavlasek match, taking a 5-1 lead with a double break in the first set. With an overhead smash, the Finn ended the set.

Both Patten and Bopanna served well in the second set. Patten double-failed at 2-3, giving the British player an opportunity, but he recovered to hold serve.

Heliovaara’s serve return winner on match point helped the second seeds win the set in a tie-breaker.

Hitesh Chauhan, a young Indian player who qualified for the boys’ singles, will play Ludvig Fredrik Hede of Sweden.
